To begin the program a student must meet with the program advisor about the intended plan of study and confirmation that the prerequisites of the course have been met. Additionally, the program advisor is able to answer questions about the IDS process and be a point of contact between the student and the University IDS Committee.
An advisory committee is selected by the student with the approval of the program director, and consists of 2-3 faculty members. The advisory committee approves the students proposed program of study, reviews the prospectus and senior project, and recommends the acceptance of both to the University IDS Committee.
